Q) Will I get course credit if I participate in the Summer Research Experience?
A) There is no credit as it is not a course but you will receive a certificate of participation.
Q) How much prior lab or research experience do I need?
A) There is no need for prior lab or research experience in fact we positively encourage participation from students that have no prior experience.
Q) Will I have to pay for travel or any or costs?
A) No all costs will be covered including lunch on the first and last day. Students will be required to make their own arrangements for lunch on the other days.
Q) How will I receive the $350 for participating?
A) The funds will be transferred into your bank account on August 21st 2024. The actual process involves a student stipend award being processed via the student information system and you will need to have set up EFT on your Cal Central account. There will be more information about this process once you are accepted into the program.
Q) Is there any help with housing or accommodation?
A) We can not help directly but if accommodation is a limiting factor on you considering participating we can try and help you find accommodation.
