Bioscience at UC Berkeley

Integrative Biology
Study in the #1 ranked program for Evolution and Ecology, with opportunities to explore biological phenomena at many levels, from molecules and genes, to full ecosystems. Learn from leading researchers in Bioinformatics, Biomechanics, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Endocrinology, Evolution and Development, Genetics and Genomics, Physiology, Phylogenetics, Paleontology, and more. 

The Integrative Biology department also offers BBSA students the opportunity to participate in Field Lab courses in the local California environment; a rare chance to design and perform experiments and collections in the field alongside the top faculty in their fields.

Molecular and Cell Biology
Renowned for cutting-edge research and student-centered teaching, the MCB department at UC Berkeley is generating some of the world’s most innovative breakthroughs, and training the next generations’ scientific leaders. 

BBSA students take courses in six MCB divisions: Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology; Cell Biology, Development and Physiology; Genetics, Genomics, Evolution, and Development; Immunology and Molecular Medicine; Neurobiology; and Molecular Therapeutics.
