I have a number of interests outside of academia. Many of them involve outdoor activities and endurance sports. I don't have many links of interest to report here, except for:

• a detailed description of a bicycle accident I was involved in during October of 2000. Remember, ride safely and always wear your helmet.
• a preview of a week-long backpacking trip with seven high school students that I led with Scott Veirs for The Thacher School in Ojai, California, in May 2000.
