Graduation Checklist for IB Undergraduates
IB Graduates
TODAY [Undergrads Only]
Degree Check
- Make sure all university, college, and major requirements are completed.
- To check, request a DARS report through Bear Facts.
Your major IB requirements for Undergraduates on DARS are not 100% accurate (although we're close!). A meeting with IB Advisors is the authoritative "check" on your IB requirements.
- For discrepancies regarding an L&S requirement (seven-course breadth, Reading & Comp, Quantitative Reasoning, Foreign Language), see an L&S advisor in 206 Evans.
- For concerns in the major, see a major advisor in 3060 VLSB (not your Faculty Advisor).
Degree List
- You should place yourself on the "degree list" for the actual term in which you will complete your last degree requirement. Keep in mind, there are 3 different degree dates: spring, summer, or fall. When are you officially graduating? That will be the term in which you should join the Degree List!
- To graduate, you must add to the degree list at the beginning of the term you expect to complete all your degree requirements.
- Being on the Degree List DOES NOT equate with RSVP'ing for the IB Commencement.
Finishing in Spring 2012?
- Add yourself to the Spring 2012 degree list via Tele-BEARS within the first five weeks of the semester.
- Verify your degree list status by checking your "Profile" on Bear Facts and reviewing the Degree Candidate status.
- If you are graduating this semester and are not yet on the degree list, you'll need to file a "Petition to be Added to the Degree List [PDF]" at 206 Evans by March 9th. After March 9th, late adds to the degree list require a fee & a memo from your major advisor!
- You can remove yourself from the Degree List via L&S petition by the last day of the term. Consult the advisors in L & S for specifics.
- If you plan summer 2012 courses at ANY institution, and you want/need these units or grades to be part of your undergrad transcripts, please see next bullet.
Finishing in Summer or Fall 2012?
- Add yourself to the summer or fall 2012 degree list through Tele-BEARS (when registering for your summer or fall classes).
- Late adds to the degree list require a fee & a memo from your major advisor.
- NOTE: You may participate in the IB Commencement ceremony only if you will have completed 20 of the 24 upper-division major units by the end of summer 2012 and your official graduation date will be fall 2012.
