Dennis Evangelista
I am a second-year graduate student. I am surveying various potential thesis topics involving fluid mechanics and biology. This summer, I studied jumping in the amphipod Hyale and swimming in the
anemone Stomphia coccinea. I am also interested in gliding and flight in feathered dinosaurs.
Previously, I have looked at jellyfish biomechanics (with A. Hosoi at MIT) and explosive seed dispersal and self-burial in the filaree (Erodium cicutarium) (with J. Dumais at Harvard). I like vertebrates, invertebrates, plants, fungi... the stranger the better.
