I am interested in how the vertebrate brain integrates environmental information to make reproductive decisions.  I study the transition from non-reproductive to reproductive status in zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata).  Specifically, I am interested in how this songbird’s reproductive system is rapidly activated in response to food and social cues and how social context may modulate the endocrine response to food availability.
