Ackerly Lab Research
Current research in the Ackerly lab is focused on three areas: 1) trait-based approaches to community assembly, with recent work on California woody plant communities and tropical forests, 2) niche and trait evolution, from microevolutionary studies in vernal pools to phylogenetic studies of trait diversification, and 3) studies of climate change impacts on California biodiversity, and implications for design of protected area networks, with a focus on the San Francisco Bay Area.
