The Ackerly Lab is in the Dept. of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley. We study plant ecology and evolution, with a special focus on native plants of California.

- Just published in Science! Kraft et al. (2008) Functional Traits and Niche-Based Tree Community Assembly in an Amazonian Forest
- Climate change and the future of the California flora
- Nathan Kraft received the 2008 President's Award from the American Society of Naturalists for his recent paper in American Naturalist
- Webb et al. 2002 paper in Annual Review of Ecology and Systematics was awarded the 2008 Cooper Prize by the Ecological Society of America.
- Congratulations to recent students and post-docs:
- Nancy Emery has taken a position at Purdue University as Visiting Assistant Professor.
- Radika Bhaskar recently received an NSF International Post-doc Fellowship to continue her work in Mexico.
- Risa Sargent has taken a faculty position at University of Ottawa.
- Kjell Bolmgren has returned to Sweden to continue studies of phenology and climate change.
- Will Cornwell is now a Biodiversity Fellow at Univ. of British Columbia.
- Amy Zanne has started a faculty position at Univ. of Missouri St. Louis.
- Nishi Rajakaruna is returning to California to join the faculty of San Jose State next fall.
