Material you need to know for Midterm Exam on Wednesday, October 8:

Know all Carlson lecture notes on website

Required Life Cycle Diagrams (from Campbell):
Basidiomycete Fungal Life Cycle
Alternation of Generations
Laminaria (multicellular Brown algae) Life Cycle Bryophyte (Nontracheophyte) Moss Life Cycle
Fern (Non-seed Tracheophyte) Life Cycle
Pine Gymnosperm Life Cycle
Angiosperms Life Cycle
Information students need to know for Chlamydomonas & Ulva life cycles:
Chlamydomonas is a green algae that has haploid and diploid unicellular phases and is NOT an example of alternation of generations.

Ulva is green algae and represents isomorphic alternation of generations.

There are no required diagrams for either of these life cycles. However, for anyone interested, the Chlamydomonas life cycle is Fig. 28.31 on page 569 of Campbell 7th edition.

Additional courses taught by Professor Carlson:

IB 140, Human Reproduction in Spring Semester
IB 102, California Flora in Spring Semester
IB 117, Medical Ethnobotany In Fall Semester and Early Summer Session
