Enrolling in Biology 1B - Fall 2009Please read ALL of the following material. It will be strictly followed by the Course Coordinator.
All lab sections for the Fall Semester, including the Field Sections (sections 137 and 138) are filled.
Lab and Discussion:
The discussion sessions start the week of Monday, August 31. You must attend the first discussion session or you will be dropped. The labs do not start until the week of Monday, September 14.
Section Number:
Students must enroll in the same section number for the lab and discussion. It is not necessary to enter the CCN for discussion section; it is automatically assigned after you select a lab section.
Switching Sections:
You can switch sections up to Friday, August 28. After that date do not try to do it on Tele-BEARS. As mentioned in the Schedule of Classes, changing sections is very difficult in Biology 1B. However, if you are already in the class and want to change your lab and discussion section (you must do both), you may do so only until Friday, August 28. You must find another student registered in the class who wants to switch with you. Both students must see Coordinator Mike Moser before 2:00 PM Friday, August 28. There will be a class "switching board" outside 2013 LSB where you can put up notices and look for someone to change with. Forms will be available. Remember, you must already be enrolled in the class. If you are not able to switch before Friday, August 28, go to your original section or you will be dropped.
Concurrent Enrollment Students:
All registered UC students have preference over Concurrent Enrollment students. We will not know if seats are available for Concurrent Enrollment until Friday, August 28. Please contact Mike Moser for further information.
Wait Listed Students:
There is no wait list.
Exams:
There are no make-up or late midterms. If you miss a midterm due to an emergency you need to contact Mike Moser, Course Coordinator, ASAP. If your absence is due to illness, you must present a written, verifiable, medical excuse to the Course Coordinator. Your midterm grade will be pro-rated at the end of the semester. Midterm #1 is on Friday, October 2, 6-7 PM. Midterm #2 is on Friday, November 6, 6-7 PM. Midterm #3 and the Final are on Monday, December 14, 8-11 AM. If you have religious conflicts due to sunset on Friday, you will be given the test from 5-6 PM that day. Please contact Mike Moser ASAP.
