Mailing, Shipping, and Fed Ex
- The department covers the cost of routine U.S. mail correspondence for faculty; simply put the mail in the appropriate bin under the counter in Room 3060 (near mailboxes).
- Mailing of packages or bulk mailings should be billed to a faculty fund source (unless connected with a course); mailing labels are available from Mail Services. You will need the accounting “chartstring” that identifies your fund source. If you aren’t sure what this is, the IB Business Services staff can help.
- Fed Ex shipping or shipment of large items can be arranged through the IB Storeroom. The department covers the cost of a small number of express shipments for administrative purposes (letters of recommendation), but otherwise you will need to identify a fund source (although not necessarily the complete chartstring).
- Deliveries of U.S. Mail, Fed Ex, and small packages are made to 3060 VLSB and can be picked up in the mailboxes. We will ask someone to sign for pickup of anything that requires a signature on delivery. Personal mail should not be received through the U.C. mail system.
- The University will not reimburse for the cost of postage purchased from the Post Office. However, if you need stamps for a business purpose, you can order them through Mail Services. The order is generally delivered within one day; you will need the “chartstring” to place the order (see above).
