VLSB Seminar / Conference Rooms Policy

  • The VLSB Conference /Seminar rooms are for the use of VLSB occupants unless special approval is obtained from the building manager (3-9998).
  • These rooms are intended to be used for weekly lab meetings, seminars and independent study groups and building functions.
  • These rooms are not to be used for courses regularly scheduled through Classroom Central with the exception of some departmental graduate courses and seminars.
  • Non-VLSB occupants must be sponsored by -- and include the participation of -- VLSB Faculty in order to use these facilities. Special use may be arranged through the Building Manager provided there is not a conflicting academic use. 
  • Corporate users may schedule use of these rooms for a fee (643-9998).

Procedure for reserving a conference room:

  1. Conference rooms must be reserved ahead of time. Contact the Seminar & Office Coordinator to reserve a room.
  2. Keys can be checked out in room 3060. Keys must be returned the same day, or for late events by 9:00 AM the following working day. Keys to building audio visual cabinets can also be checked out at that time. VLSB Faculty may request a conference room master key to be assigned to them.
  3. Users are responsible for leaving rooms clean. Please place recyclable bottles and cans in the recycling bin and trash in the trash can.
  4. Replace furniture in the standard configuration: tables together in the center, chairs around the table. Please re-stack the extra chairs.
  5. Audiovisual equipment must be returned back to 2031 or back into the cabinet and locked up.
  6. Turn out the lights and lock the door as you leave.

Please do your part in maintaining these premises. Violation of building policies may result in the loss of privileges.

  • large seminars, discussions, department meetings and special events
  • reserved for groups of 15 or more (smaller groups must use the other rooms)
  • includes kitchenette with sink and refrigerator
  • outside and after-hours events require Building Manager approval

  • for administrative meetings with priority to doctoral exams and graduate admissions meetings
  • classes or discussions may not meet in this room

  • reserved for lab meetings, seminars and discussions of groups up to 25 people

  • available for seminars of 15-25 members and may be used for large meetings
  • equipped with small kitchenette with refrigerator and sink
  • includes phone jack
  • due to the specialized nature of this room, users scheduling in advance may be bumped by a special conference or all-day event that requires its use

  • reserved for lab meetings, discussions and seminars of up to 20 people

Note: Classrooms on the second and third floors of VLSB are controlled by IB Instructional Support or the Office of the Registrar's Classroom Management
