Description: The goals of the course are to (a) examine how geographically-linked characteristics of species influence their potential for evolution and extinction; (b) provide an overview of approaches for studying the interplay between geographic ranges, environment, evolution, and extinction; and (c) examine how human impacts over-ride the biogeographic processes and patterns that prevailed before people dominated the planet.
