Water flow through a colony of suspension feeding animals

This image illustrates the water currents generated by these bryozoans as they feed. It was made by colorizing and superimposing frames of a video to illustrate water flow through the colony: moving particles appear as rainbow streaks, and still objects - the animals themselves - appear white.
